MXRUMS represents a selection of Mexico’s finest makers of both traditional and modern cane spirits, which are often called aguardiente, cañita, chinguirito, cañazo, or simply ron. With dozens of cane varieties, extensive terroir, & and varying local production methods, MXRUMS shares with you just a slice of the beauty to be found amongst The Rums of Mexico.
Cultivated by Daniel Vega Santiago in the arid village of Zoquiapam Boca de los Ríos, Oaxaca, this yellow-colored, hearty cane variety grows amongst columnar cactus and biznagas, and is irrigated from water drawn from the nearby Río Monteflor. It was distilled by local maestro Pedro Bautista on a handmade, wood-fired four plate continuous copper still.
Sourdough, apricot, and mango on the nose. Almond, currants, bubblegum, and sour cherries on the palate.
